Banff Sunshine Village is excited to announce the opening of our highly anticipated summer operations, starting this Friday, June 23. Banff Sunshine Village is situated in the breathtaking Canadian Rockies. This Friday, Sunshine Meadows invites guests to immerse themselves in various activities to explore the stunning natural beauty of our Meadows, a World UNESCO Heritage Site, 7,000 ft above ordinary.
“Banff Sunshine Meadows is truly a place of rare and raw beauty. It’s unlike any place I’ve ever been. When standing on the Standish Viewing Deck, overlooking three glistening lakes surrounded by mountains for as far as the eye can see, you feel like you’re a world away from the every day,” Shares Kendra Scurfield, director of media and communications at Banff Sunshine Village.
This summer, the Banff-based resort will open fully for a summer experience. Overnight guests of the resort can sleep mountainside in luxury at Banff Sunshine’s Sunshine Mountain Lodge as they make the mountaintop resort their base camp for mountain adventures. From the hotel’s front doors, guests can lace up to walk or hike through the Rockies in bloom on the resort’s 10-plus km of maintained trails.
“Unlike many other attractions in the Banff area, Sunshine Meadows is somewhat of a well-kept secret. For guests looking for jaw-dropping scenery, they’ll find it at Sunshine. In the summer, plenty of parking is available, and guests do not need to reserve times. Our gondola and sightseeing chairlift will be open daily from 8 am to 6 pm.”
New this summer, the resort has enhanced their hosted walk program and interpretive center, adding information from the Verdant Creek Wildfire that blazed in the vicinity in 2018. Scars from the fire can be seen when hiking Sunshine Meadows.
Summer programming at Banff Sunshine includes a return of their “Fit in the Rockies” classes and photography walks.
